The Face - Part 1

Description

She stared at the monitor of her laptop as she listened to her potential client drone on about this, that, and the other thing; trying to explain his reasoning for having his wife killed. Did he think she cared about his reasoning? All Tinararion cared about was the money; about the pay she would receive for this job. This man was offering a rather substantial amount for taking care of this little matter he didn't want to dirty his own hands with. He was offering her 7.5 million Nuyen for this pitifully simple task. She made a rolling motion with her hand, her eyes still on the screen, indicating for him to hurry up and get to his point so they could get to the heart of the matter. Luckily it stopped his rambling.

"Mr. Watts, don't worry so much. You want the job done, and you've come to me to do it. That's all that matters to me, unless somewhere in your ceaseless babbling you mentioned that you wanted this done in a specific manner?"

"Specific? Uh... no... No, I just want this done with. You can do it right?" He asked nervously.

She looked at him a moment, eyebrow raised as if her delicate elven ears must be deceiving her. "You're not doubting me, are you Mr. Watts?"

"Ooh, no, no of course not. That wasn't what I meant. I merely..."

"It will be done, no more then a week I should guess; more then likely just a couple of days though," she said cutting him off before he could start rambling again.

"Th... thank you!" He exclaimed, standing to leave.

"Whoa! Now wait just a moment here. There is still the matter of my money Mr. Watts. The deal is, half up front, half upon completion. That means you owe me... 3 million and 750 thousand Nuyen," she smirked as she clicked her long, dark painted nails on the table. "You do have it, right?" She would be more then just a little disappointed if he didn't. She hated to think that someone might try to double cross her. The last client to try that ended up as dead as the contract.

He stammered a moment, as if he weren't sure about having the money or not but finally he produced a credstick from his pocket. "Of... of course I do. I guess it slipped my mind."

Uh huh, sure it did you dolt of a man. Dear gods I do so hate dealing with pitiful humans. She just smiled a twisted little grin however and took the credstick from him, slotting it and taking her money from his account. "I'll be in touch then Mr. Watts," she said as she handed the credstick over again.

Finally he left her office, a soft almost frustrated sigh escaping her lips. It seemed that killing off one's spouse, rather then divorcing them, was becoming a trend. She didn't overly mind, it kept her in work and kept her from being bored. It also kept her from thinking about Anthony too much. The last thing she needed was a distraction; and Anthony was defiantly a distraction.

I like it! I love the attitude on Tinararion and the pleading on the dude, you got it just right. And 3.75 mill? We were lucky to squeeze out 15-20,000 from our GM. :P
